The ongoing 2019 Hong Kong protests, also known as Anti-Extradition Law Amendment Bill Movement, were triggered by the introduction of the Fugitive Offenders amendment bill by the Hong Kong government. The umbrella reads “SUFR- Stand Up For Rights” and it is the national protest symbol for resistance/protection in Hong Kong. The bandana represents resistance, power, and unity.
